1. Our teachers meet, and most often exceed, the DCFS teacher qualification requirements.

  2. Rainbow requires that all staff become certified in First Aid and CPR. The Department of Children & Family Services requires that only one person on staff be certified in the above.

  3. Rainbow pays salaries that are the highest in the industry. This means that Rainbow Academy has the most qualified teachers and staff longevity.

  4. Rainbow has two Directors on staff to help evaluate children with possible special needs and to help the parents seek the appropriate special services for their child.

  5. Our curriculum is not sent to us by a corporate office. Our curriculum is developed by a highly qualified and experienced teaching staff and our Directors.

  6. Our Directors hold monthly curriculum meetings with our Preschool Teachers Co-Op and Infant/Toddler Teachers Co-Op to discuss: Themes for the coming month; field trips (in-house and out-of-the-center), special days such as Grandparent’s Day, Johnny Appleseed Day, celebrations, concepts and curriculum ideas.

  7. Rainbow’s teacher resources are limitless. Our teacher’s have access to a myriad of educational internet sites, teacher’s manuals and curriculum programs. Our curriculum programs include:

    1. Hooked on Phonics

    2. LeapFrog SchoolHouse

    3. Jolly Phonics (the same program that is used in School District 93)

    4. Creative Curriculum

    5. Addison Wesley Work Jobs

  8. Parents receive a monthly newsletter and calendar to keep them informed on what activities are planned for the month within their child’s classroom and the Center. Every classroom receives monthly and/or weekly subscriptions to publications such as:

In addition to the high quality of care and developmentally appropriate curriculum that your child receives in his/her classroom, Rainbow also provides your child with supplemental services. These services are incorporated into your child’s program to further enrich their education and development.

We would like to share with you some of the exciting services our facility offers which no other Center in our area offers. Please read about our Computer Lab, Bakery, Multi-Purpose Room and Theatre located under "Enrichment Services".
