Language Lab at the Rainbow Academy Child Care Center Carol Stream Illinois

COMPUTERS: Our Language Lab is equipped with computers designed for exclusive use by the children. Through the use of these computers, our teachers are able to take full advantage of the multi-skill level software programs available to children.

LISTENING CENTER: Additionally, our Language Lab also has an audio/visual Listening Center with the capacity for eight children to listen, at one time, to audio books and read along with the audio.

EARLY LITERACY: Rainbow has invested in the LeapFrog SchoolHouse Early Literacy Program. This program brings books to life with touch, sight and sound interactive technology. The program helps students learn letter names and sounds, practice decoding words and builds reading fluency. The program extends from preschool level to school-age level.

MATH AND SCIENCE: The LeapFrog SchoolHouse Workstations are adaptable to teaching reading and writing, math and science readiness skills. Some of the additional programs which instill character development that are part of our Language Lab are:

v Lesson for Life: A Character Development Series that teaches life’s important lessons in areas such as caring and fairness, trustworthiness, respect for others and responsibility.

v All Around Me Storybook Series: This series covers nine universal themes such as: About Me, Home, School, Nature, Neighborhood, Travel, Food and Helping Others.
